GitHub Copilot for Azure now delivers tailored, context-sensitive assistance to developers working in GitHub and Visual Studio Code. By typing the \”@azure\” command, users receive personalized guidance for tasks like resource management, app deployment, and troubleshooting—all within Copilot\’s AI-driven chat interface. This new functionality builds on GitHub Copilot’s existing capabilities, easing the burden of provisioning through Azure Developer CLI (azd) templates. As a result, developers can stay focused on core programming tasks while letting Copilot manage background workflows and handle cost-management questions.

To further speed up development, Microsoft also rolled out AI App Templates. These ready-to-use solutions enable quick project launches by offering pre-built frameworks and components across various platforms, including GitHub Codespaces, VS Code, and Visual Studio. Supporting a range of programming languages, models, and frameworks from providers like Arize, LangChain, and Pinecone, these templates help developers integrate essential security features—such as Managed Identity and keyless authentication—right from the start. The outcome is faster application deployment without sacrificing robust data protection.
